ECDL

The European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) is an internationally recognised qualification for computer users.

ECDL improves learners' understanding of computers and promotes efficient use of software. The course opens up a variety of opportunities through the broad range of skills it provides.

The qualification is widely recognised by employers as proof of ability and competence when working with IT.

The 7 ECDL modules are:

Module 1: Security for IT Users
Module 2: IT User Fundamentals
Module 3: Word Processing
Module 4: Spreadsheet Software
Module 5: Database Software
Module 6: Presentation Software
Module 7: Using e-mail and the internet

To achieve the ECDL Essentials Levels 1, candidates must complete the following:

Module 1: Security for IT Users
Module 2: IT User fundamentals
Module 7: Using e-mail and the internet

To achieve ECDL Extra Level 2, candidates must complete the following:

Module 3: Word Processing
Module 4: Spreadsheet Software
Module 6: Presentation Software
Additional Module – Improving Productivity Using IT

To achieve the full ECDL qualification, candidates must successfully complete all seven modules listed above.
